PA to Senior Leadership Team

We are looking to recruit a PA to support the Leadership Team to be based at our Exeter Schools in Broadclyst, Monkerton and Westclyst. This post is a permanent position and is available from October 2021.

You will be working alongside the Senior Leadership Team providing administrative support. You will need to be a proactive and confident communicator who is capable of working with little supervision and demonstrates initiative and excellent organisational skills. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support them in managing their workloads, helping with diary management, responding to parental and external agency queries, preparing for meetings and organising travel.

The working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. The position is term time only plus 2 weeks (40 weeks per annum).
The salary will be between £17,190 and £20,379 pro rata. This allows for progression within the role in line with our appraisal and professional development processes. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the hours per week and the weeks per year.

Based in Exeter and  Barnstaple
School Administrators – Required Immediately

This is an exciting time to join us at Cornerstone Academy Trust with its schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. The Academy Trust has a national and international reputation for its outstanding and innovative education and its schools are highly sort after. We are responsible for a number of Department for Education ‘centres of excellence’, working with other teachers and schools across the country to provide professional development and support with school improvement strategies. With the new opening of the new school at Monkerton and the expansion of Westclyst, we are wishing to recruit four new administrators to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidates will be part of our existing administration team providing support to the families and staff at each of our schools. You will need to be extremely personable and have excellent communication skills both on the telephone and face to face. We need inspiring and dedicated team members who will bring additional flair and efficiency to our highly regarded admin team. We want people who will bring organisation skills to the role as well as having a liking for accuracy, planning, analysis, and reporting. It is essential that the postholders have excellent and demonstrable competency in the use of IT, specifically in the use Microsoft Office365 including up-to-date experience in the use of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, OneNote and Excel. You must have a great work ethic that has a “get the job done” attitude.

As part of this recruitment, we are keen to find people who have previous experience of HR administration or involvement with Nursery admissions and administration processes, although these skills are not mandatory.

The four administrator roles have differing working arrangements as follows:

• 2 x Administrators – Permanent role (Exeter based)
All year round, with the potential to discuss part week working in holiday times
8.30am to 5.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
The salary is £17,190 pro-rata.

• Administrator – Permanent role (Barnstaple based)
40 weeks (term time, plus availability for our 5 non-pupil days and 5 days school holiday working). 8.30am to 5.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
The salary is £17,190 pro-rata. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the weeks per year.

• Administrator – Fixed Term contract (Exeter based)
Term time, plus availability for our 5 non-pupil days and 5 days school holiday working.
8.30am to 5.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
The salary is £17,190 pro-rata. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the weeks per year.
This contract will end on 26th July 2022.

The roles are varied and will sometimes require you to manage the switchboard with incoming phone calls, respond to parents in person at the main reception desk along with supporting the back-office functions to ensure that our many services run smoothly. We are responsible for four Nurseries, an in-house dining service in each school, our own bus service, a wrap-around care service, a range of extra-curricular activities and many school trips and residential activities for children. This requires the efficient use of our management information system, our communications systems and the maintenance of many different databases to support these different services.
