School Administrator - Required September 2021

Based in Exeter

This is an exciting time to join us at Cornerstone Academy Trust with its schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. Due to the expansion of the Academy Trust with new year groups opening at the new schools of Westclyst and Monkerton, we are wishing to recruittwo new administrators to start inSeptember2021. One of these roles is for a new permanent position and the other is for maternity cover and therefore fixed term.

The successful candidates will be part of our existing administration team providing support to the families and staff at each of our schools. They will need to be extremely personable and have excellent communication skills both on the telephone and face to face. We needinspiring and dedicated team members who will bring additional flair and efficiency to our highly regarded admin team.We want people who will bring organisation skills to the role as well as having a liking for accuracy, planning, analysis, and reporting. It is essential that the postholders have excellent and demonstrable competency in the use of IT, specifically in the use Microsoft Office365 including up-to-date experience in the use of Microsoft Teams, Outlook,OneNote and Excel. You must have a great work ethic that has “get the job done” attitude. 

The role is varied and will require you to manage the switch board with incoming phone calls, respond to parents in person at the main reception desk along with supporting the back-office functions to ensure that our many services run smoothly. We are responsible for four Nurseries, an in-house dining service in each school, our own bus service, a wrap-around care service, a range of extra-curricular activities and many school trips and residential activities for children. This requires the efficient use of our management information system, our communications systems and the maintenance of many different databases to support these different services.

The working hours are 40 per week, starting at 8.30am, finishing at 5.00pm, with 30-minute lunch break

The positionsare term time only plus 2 weeks (40 weeks per annum). This includes being present on our 5 non-pupil days.The salary will be£17,190 pro rata. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the hours per week and the weeks per year.
