Coffee Shop & Bistro - Required ASAP

Would you like to be part of a busy and modern kitchen team providing high quality, freshly prepared hot dinners for staff, as well as managing a coffee shop that opens to parents and families each day after school?

The role of Coffee Shop & Bistro Manager is based within Monkerton Primary School’s newly opened Academy Café. We are looking for the right person to support in managing our busy and vibrant bistro, preparing and managing meals for staff members at lunchtime as well as running the Academy Café which is open to parents and families from 3pm every school day.

Hours of work are 8.30am to 5.30pm with a 30-minute break. You will be employed for 39 weeks per year, which includes 5 non-pupil days.

During the morning, you will prepare for lunchtime service which will include collating staff food orders and, alongside the Chef, ensuring meals are ready for the lunchtime period. You must be good at baking cakes and other treats as this will form a significant part of your role. At lunchtime you will serve staff their meals and drinks which will include a mixture of pre-ordered and instant order. At 3pm you will oversee the opening of the café, which serves hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and full meals. The role will also include general waiting duties such as clearing tables. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service to promote a positive atmosphere to maximise the enjoyment of visitors. You will need to be take payment using an electronic till system and card machine.

Point to menu. Training and support will be provided by our Head Chef and his Deputy, as well as onsite support from Monkerton’s Chef. The actual salary for this post is £20,000 per annum, for working 40 weeks a year.
