Lead Teaching Assistant

We are looking to appoint a Lead Teaching Assistant to be based at Yeo Valley Primary School. Whilst primarily class-based supporting as an experienced and capable Teaching assistant within in a class, you will also have the wider responsibilities of line management, performance management, arranging meetings, the induction and interviewing of staff, ongoing professional development and dissemination of key info through other Teaching Assistants. This is a pivotal role in the Trust.

You should have a good knowledge of the curriculum being taught and in particular the requirements for KS1 and KS2. You will collaborate as part of a larger group of Lead Teaching Assistants across the schools in our Trust ensuring as a team that the provision of our wider services e.g., breakfast and after school clubs, holiday club and bus service operate smoothly. Relevant experience of working with children and qualifications are desirable. You will need to have a willingness to attend CPD and familiarise yourself with the latest developments in the curriculum that the Trust is implementing.
The role will be permanent, full time Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm, for 40 weeks per annum (38 weeks term time, plus 1 week non-pupil days and 1 week holiday working). The full-time equivalent salary for this role is in the region of £24,100 pro rata depending on age and experience. However, the actual salary based on the hours and weeks worked will commence in the region of £23,500 per annum.
