Job Vacancy at Cornerstone Academy Trust

Personal Assistant to the Head of Children's Services
Required ASAP

Based in Exeter

If you thrive on working in a fast paced and varied environment where no two days are the same, we may have just the role for you. We are wishing to recruit a Personal Assistant to support our Head of Children’s Services to help them manage their varied and demanding schedule in overseeing the provision of services for children and in supporting teachers.

You will have access to the Local Government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals in our staff café with food cooked and served by our own chefs. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties and we support all staff with an investment in their professional development through training and a good performance management process, where a bonus is payable to those who achieve highly.

You will work closely with others within and outside of the Trust to ensure delivery dates are met, meetings are organised and provide administrative support as necessary for such things as setting agendas, recording minutes, and providing presentation materials or reports. Whilst you will be part of a wider team of administrators and assistants within the organisation, you will largely focus on the Trust’s more specialised children’s services which are delivered by the SEND team. This means that you will at times also need to help coordinate the priorities for the broader SEND team within the Trust. You will also liaise with parents and help to escalate their queries when necessary.

You will need to be extremely personable and have excellent communication skills both on the telephone and face to face. We need an inspiring and dedicated team member who will bring additional flair and efficiency to our highly regarded team. We want someone who will bring organisational skills to the role as well as having a liking for accuracy, planning, analysis, and reporting. It is essential that the postholders have excellent and demonstrable competency in the use of IT, specifically in the use of Microsoft365. You must have a great work ethic and a “get the job done” attitude. Some experience of SEND services would be advantageous.

The role is a permanent role (Exeter based), 40 weeks (term time, plus availability for our 5 non-pupil days and 5 days school holiday working), 8.30am to 5.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break. The salary is £23,200 per annum but note that the actual salary for 40 weeks is £20,000 per annum.

We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully meeting you as part of the recruitment process.
