TV Studio and Digital Media Assistant - Term Time
Exeter based

We are looking to appoint a creative and talented Teaching Assistant who will have a specific responsibility as a TV Studio and Digital Media Assistant. You will work across our Exeter schools and initially will be based in our TV studio at either Broadclyst Community Primary School or Westclyst Community Primary School. You will need to be someone who thrives on working in a busy and dynamic teaching environment and have a passion and commitment to wanting our young children to develop a life-long love of learning by being a positive, nurturing, and supportive role model.

You will work alongside the class teachers to implement a project-based curriculum where digital media and video are used as tools for both teaching and learning. You will also be involved in supporting children at lunch times and after school by extending this use of digital media through extra-curricular activities. You will need to learn how to manage the technology in the studio and support children and teachers in using this amazing resource. You will play a key role is supporting the children in creating a weekly broadcast for Cornerstone Television (CTV) that is streamed into every classroom across the schools.

A key part of your job will be in helping to prepare pupils for the ever-changing, digital work of the 21st Century, and so you will need to be willing to embrace the ethos of delivering a knowledge rich, purposeful, and project-based curriculum, through the meaningful use of technology. Every child has their own Surface PC, and you will support teachers in delivery their lessons where this technology is at the heart of each classroom.

As well as using the technology in the studio, you will need to be proficient in using the Adobe suite of creative tools (including Premier Pro), alongside Microsoft 365 to create, stream and edit video content. You will also work alongside the Marketing and PR team to assist with school and external showcase events which will include filming, lighting, and sound duties.

Required from September 2023, the position is permanent. You will work for 40 weeks per annum (38 weeks term time, plus 1 week staff training and 1 week school holiday working). The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5.00pm each day. The full-time equivalent salary for this role is in the region of £20,500 however, the actual pro rata salary will commence in the region of £19,000 per annum which is the adjusted sum to reflect the hours worked per week and the weeks worked per year. It also includes a holiday entitlement allowance.
