Job Vacancy at Cornerstone Academy Trust

Senior Leader
Based at Exeter

At a time of significant growth for our Trust we are looking to recruit an experienced senior leader. This is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about driving change management and wanting to do the very best for all children. You will be responsible for providing strong leadership across and within the Trust schools and as such you will need to have a determined, yet compassionate approach to supporting staff, parents, and children during a period of change. With not only the Trust expanding from four to seven schools in the coming months; you will also need to be highly adaptable as our Curriculum Hubs offer expands too and we launch a new EdTech hubs programme.

As an experienced school leader, you will be expected to work collaboratively and provide the needed capacity to drive change and support the delivery of school improvement priorities whilst maintaining the clear focus on high standards. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team of Cornerstone Academy Trust. The post will commence as soon as possible and whilst you are likely to be based in Exeter, you may be required to travel across the schools that you will be assigned to working with.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be expected to demonstrate within your working practices the delivery of our key principles of leading, empowering, achieving, and driving success for all. You will be expected to support and contribute to the governance arrangements for the Trust to ensure they are fit for purpose. You will need to be able to share our vision Fortune Favours the Brave and have a proven track record of being in a senior position within a Multi Academy Trust with a track record of leading school improvement to bring about better outcomes. You will report to the CEO.

As a Senior Leader, you will also be responsible for effectively leading, managing and inspiring those that work and learn within the Trust schools. You will ensure all children and employees in the Trust schools you are aligned to will achieve their full potential in an inclusive and safe environment.

Whilst each of the schools serves a different community, we very much operate a centralised one school multi-campus approach. The Trust is well resourced with a high investment in the learning environment, dedicated libraries, a 1:1 digital device programme, and dedicated learning spaces including TV studios, science and art rooms and outdoor learning and forest school spaces.

Please see the full Job Description for more detail, found on our vacancies webpage.

We have enhanced our leadership team’s pay and conditions where in addition to the teachers’ pension scheme, we offer a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme, an electric car scheme, performance related pay progression and subsidised meals in our staff café, with food cooked and served by our own chefs. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment and will work in a modern, digitally enabled environment where children have access to their own Microsoft Surface device. We are supportive of professional development as we want our leaders to succeed and grow in their roles. Senior Leaders have for example gained recognised NPQ qualifications.

Visits to the schools are welcome by prior arrangement.

We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully meeting you as part of the recruitment process.
