The Digital Tools
A Computer each as part of their kit
To allow pupils to collaborate in their learning, access digital resources and develop the independent working skills that modern life requires, Cornerstone run a one-to-one device programme from year one to year six. This means that every pupil has a Microsoft Surface device that they use when needed in school all year. Just as they are provided a pencil case, with the pencils, pens ruler, etc that they need each, they also have a surface that lives in school and they can take out when the work calls for it.
The Microsoft surface will have a detachable keyboard, a digital pen (for ink drawing and writing) and a pair of bluetooth headphones.

The kit
We believe that what pupils need in class the school should provide. This means when your child comes to school they have a pencil case with the key writing tools given to them, a school water bottle, a locker for their bag and also the digital tools they need.

The Microsoft Surface
Each child has a Microsoft Surface Go, which is a Windows tablet computer. It has a camera, a detachable keyboard and a touch screen. We have chosen this premium device for all our pupils because it is reliable, robust and allows pupils to access the curriculum we have created fully.
Digital inking
The surface works with a digital stylus that pupils use to annotate their digital work, draw and write on screen and also brainstorm ideas in different subjects.

Bluetooth headphones
Pupils have a pair of bluetooth headphones that are paired to their surface. When needed they can be used to listen to helpful curriculum videos, rewatch recordings of lesson inputs as well as join teams calls for live lesson and group projects and record themselves reading to improve using Microsoft Reading Coach.
