Clyst Heath Primary School (CHPS) is a vibrant and busy primary school in the heart of the community. Built in 2005 CHPS offers 315 places for children between the ages of 3 and 11. CHPS has a impressive outdoor provision for the Nursery and Reception children and has been rated Good by Ofsted.
CHPS joined The Cornerstone Academy Trust; a multi-academy trust that provides 21st century education across seven schools, in September 2024.
The Trust has developed a local, national and international reputation for its innovative use of IT and digital media and is transforming the classroom experience through the incorporation of Microsoft technology, enhancing student-centred learning to achieve better outcomes for all pupils. Staff members focus on delivering personalised learning experiences that empower students to be independent and creative learners, whilst building skills that will prepare them for the future.
Digital tools are going to be a critical part of your child’s future. Whether your child is using a computer to edit a video, a waterproof device to collect data outdoors, or developing literacy, free thinking, creative and communication skills. The ethos of CHPS will be to use the technology alongside excellent teaching to provide an outstanding education, packed with opportunity. However, balance is very important in education, as in all areas of life. The children will also play and learn outdoors as well as in sports teams and they will have the chance to sing in a choir, play a musical instrument and learn to cook.
