Learning away from school and home can help children grow in confidence, develop independence and improve across the curriculum. evidence demonstrates the positive impact of residential experiences both on young children’s academic outcomes and their wider development.
The Cornerstone trips and residentials plan is linked to the curriculum with termly trips and visitors to the schools. In Year 3 we begin the residentials programme, and these opportunities for learning outside the classroom contribute significantly to not only raising standards academically but also improving children’s personal, social and emotional development, and independence. As the children enter upper key stage two the children have the opportunity to travel abroad and have previously been to the Netherlands, Stockholm and America.
Many of the trips and residentials are cross Trust allowing the children to meet and make friends from our schools.
