Deaf Support Centre at
Countess Wear Primary School
Countess Wear Primary School is proud of its Deaf Support Centre (6 places from Reception-Y6), a specialist provision embedded within our mainstream school. The Centre provides dedicated support for deaf children and young people who have been allocated a funded Local Authority place through their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Our aim is to ensure that every deaf pupil is fully included in school life, achieves their full potential and develops confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging. Specialist support is provided by staff with expertise in deaf education, working closely with class teachers, families and external professionals to ensure pupils can access the full curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life.Â
National Deaf Children’s Society | For every deaf child
