Choosing the right school is an important decision, and we want families to have the opportunity to find out more about our schools, meet our teams and see what makes each Cornerstone school unique.
Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for prospective families to visit our schools, with our programme of
Open Evenings providing the opportunity to visit all seven Cornerstone schools.
For families who would particularly like to see a school in action during the school day, we are also offering a number of
Open Day visits at selected schools.
Open Evenings
Our evening events are a great opportunity to visit your local Cornerstone school, meet members of the school team, look around our facilities and find out more about life at the school.
All seven Cornerstone schools are taking part in our Open Evening programme.
Our evening events provide the perfect opportunity to:
- Meet our Head of School and school teams
- Tour our classrooms and facilities
- Learn about our curriculum and approach to learning
- Discover our enrichment opportunities, clubs and wraparound care
- Ask questions about starting school at Cornerstone
How do I attend?
Our schools are part of Cornerstone Academy Trust — one school on seven campuses — with each school offering its own unique community, while sharing our commitment to providing an excellent education for every child.

- Monkerton Community Primary School | Monday 16th Nov | 5pm – 7pm
- Countess Wear Community Primary School | Thursday 19th Nov | 5pm – 7pm
- Westclyst Community Primary School | Tuesday 24th Nov | 5pm – 7pm
- Marpool Primary School | Thursday 26th Nov | 5pm – 7pm
- Broadclyst Community Primary School | Monday 30th Nov | 5pm – 7pm
- Clyst Heath Community Primary School | Tuesday 1st Dec | 5pm – 7pm
Open Day Visits
We know that some families would also value the opportunity to visit a school during the school day, when pupils are learning and the school is in full operation.
This year, Countess Wear, Marpool and Yeo Valley will be offering additional daytime Open Day visits.
These visits provide an opportunity to see the school in action, explore the learning environment and get a feel for everyday life at Cornerstone.
Places for Open Day visits are limited and must be booked in advance.
Unlike traditional open events, these visits are not staged. You will see everyday school life and gain a genuine insight into the environment your child could become part of.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- See lessons taking place in classrooms
- Explore our learning spaces and facilities
- Meet members of our school team
- Find out more about our curriculum and values
- Ask questions about starting primary school

Not to worry, our open evenings run until December 1st where you can visit the other schools and ask questions.
Applications
The application window for September 2027 entry is open between 14th November 2026 and 14th January 2027.
You will need to apply through Devon Admissions. They will contact you in April to advise you of the school place you have been allocated. You can view more information here.
