Our Music Provision
Instrumental Music Lessons
At Cornerstone we have an excellent instrumental music lesson service, offering quality tuition through our experienced and specialist music teachers across all the schools. A wide range of musical instruments can be learnt spanning all instrument groups and include clarinet, flute, piano, keyboard, guitar, drums, and will do our best to find a teacher for any instrument.
In addition, brass lessons can booked and paid for directly with BandStars.
Pupils learning an instrument are given opportunities to perform to others and share their learning, through concerts. The children see their progress measured weekly in a detailed in Teams that the teacher uses to record their effort and improvements as well as reflecting on their home practice at home. This and the annual written report at the end of the school year to inform parents of the progress their children are making throughout their time with their instrumental teacher.
Individual ÂŁ17 per lesson lasting 25 minutes session. The number of lesson per team will vary depending on the length of the term.
Our instrumental lessons are very popular, and as such can often have a waiting list, so to register your interest in starting please pay for your lessons via your child’s Wisepay account here and your child will be added to the register. We will contact you if there aren’t enough spaces and you will be placed on a waiting list.
The music service is being subsidised by the Trust to limit the costs to parents. We are however in a position to offer further support via a discount to those on income support, which is assessed by those children in receipt of free school meals.
