Broadclyst Community Primary School Nursery

Our 40 place school-based Nursery provides excellent care and education for children ages from two years, led by a Nursery Teacher and supported by our key workers. We are open 48 weeks of the year during term time, but the Nursery children also have the option of attending our Nursery Holiday Club which is based at Wesclyst Community Primary School, where they have the opportunity to play and learn with children from the other Nurseries in our Trust.

BCPS Nursery is led by the Nursery Teacher, Ellie Jones, who works very closely with our Early Years Phase Leader, Hannah James and our Deputy Phase Leaders, Amy Harris and Molly Sobey. Ellie also works alongside our two Reception Class Teachers, Emma Orchard and Lucy Muchenje-Daye. Together they form our very successful Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Team.

The Nursery Team delivers learning experiences and opportunities to the children following out outstanding Early Years Curriculum, which is continued through into the Reception class, providing progression matched to each child’s developmental stage from two to five years.

BCPS is an inclusive and innovative school, and we endeavour to create and environment which will foster a love of learning.

Our Nursery provides a wide range of enriching opportunities and experiences to encourage our school’s youngest children to develop their natural curiosity and meet individual needs to further support development, both indoors and in our fantastic outdoor area.

Session Times

Our Nursery sessions run from:

  • 8:00am to 9:00am (3 – 4 year olds only)
  • 9:00am to 12:00pm (morning session)
  • 12:00 to 3:00pm (afternoon session)
  •  3:00pm to 6:00pm (3 – 4 year olds only)
Children who are attending a morning session need to be collected at 12:00pm at the School Reception. Children who are attending an afternoon session will need to be dropped off at the School Reception and collected at 3:00pm from the Nursery building, unless they are attending the 3:00pm – 6:00pm session.

Lunch

Lunch times are part of the education of the Nursery children as it is a great opportunity to teach key personal, social and emotional development skills. The children are therefore able to eat their lunch at the end of the morning session at 11:30am (or they can eat at home with you), or at the beginning of the afternoon session when they arrive at 12:00pm. We offer Nursery children the chance to become part of our School Dining Club, where you can purchase in advance between one and five lunches per week. The current menu can be viewed on the school website (under the dining tab) and we send out the next term’s menu choices at the end of the pervious term. Alternatively, your child can bring in a packed lunch from home.

Charges

Our current hourly rates are:

  • £7.10 for 2 year olds
  • £5.30 for 3 and 4 year olds

These are charged for hours over the Early Years Entitlement, Extended Entitlement and 2 year old funding schemes.

The funded sessions available are:

  • 15 hours of funding per week (for 38 weeks of the year)
  • 30 hours of funding per week (for 38 weeks of the year)

You can check on the Gov website here or the childcare choices here to see whether you are eligible to receive help with childcare costs.

How to Pay

Invoices for any unfunded hours are sent out at the beginning of every term and are paid through our ‘Wisepay’ system, which is accessible here.

We also accept employer’s childcare vouchers and tax free child care payments.

Should you have any questions about funding or payments our admin team would be more than happy to discuss this with you.
