Post Title: PR, Marketing and Digital Design Executive
Reporting To: Trust Business Manager
Salary Grade Range: Cornerstone Support Scale
- This job description is not a comprehensive definition of the post. Discussions will take place between the Executive Headteacher and the Administrator on a regular basis to clarify individual responsibilities within the general framework and character of the post identified below.
- In drawing up this job description the Executive Headteacher acknowledges his responsibility in those ways defined for Headteachers in his Contract of Employment, to enable the holder of post to carry out the assigned duties and responsibilities. The Executive Headteacher will consult you as appropriate during any review of these duties.
Exercise of general duties
To lead in the PR, marketing and digital design and communication of the academy and curriculum hubs.
Exercise of particular duties
You shall perform, in accordance with any directions which may reasonably be given to you by the CEO or other leadership team member from time to time, such particular duties as may reasonably be assigned to you within the nature and character of the post and, in particular:
Communication and Marketing
- Work closely with the CEO, senior leadership team and business development team in managing the planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing campaigns.
- Work closely with the Trust’s external PR contact around opportunities to promote the Trust and ensure that all external ‘electronic’ communications are kept to a high standard.
- Lead in evaluating data and creating reports on key metrics in order to monitor marketing campaign efficiency and analyse trends to support ongoing marketing objectives.
- Supporting internal communications through the management of our staff intranet, creating and editing content that is both relevant and informative to staff.
- Support the business development team in the organisation of promotional events, which includes advertising, attendee management and the creation of promotional literature using the Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Lead other staff in collating, producing and sending weekly newsletters using appropriate applications.
- Oversee and manage all the Trust’s social media accounts using social media management platforms such as Hootsuite and Buffer to ensure a steady flow of engaging material is published throughout the year.
- Responsible for creating original text, imagery and video content, managing posts and responding to followers across our social media platforms.
- Managing web content across the Trust’s websites. This includes content updates, security updates, image and video upload and maintaining news articles and Headteacher’s blogs.
- Implementing basic SEO practice to help extend the reach of the Trust’s websites.
- Working closely with the academy’s website manager and other external providers to ensure a high level of service is provided across the academy’s platforms. Where issues are identified these are resolved in an efficient and timely manner.
- Lead your team in preparing quality marketing materials to meet specific briefs for print and digital reproduction using the Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Liaising with external companies to format and order print materials as necessary.
- Managing the editing of videos/media to share via social media and the academy’s websites using applications such as Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.
- Woking closely with the studio team to prepare digital content for our virtual events that are streamed live from the Broadclyst television studio.
- Taking staff photos and building up a bank of quality media from across the Trust to be used in our marketing campaigns.
- Managing a small team, including coordinating the performance review process and supporting the development of skills.
Administrative Support to the Curriculum Hubs:
- Lead in supporting the promotion of forthcoming events via newsletters, across the academy websites and social media channels including advertising of courses and monitoring of attendee numbers.
- Maintaining a good social media knowledge and actively working with other staff to maximise their social media presence.
- Support event organisation both prior to and on the day. This includes, liaising with the leadership team and site management teams to ensure relevant marketing materials are available.
Other activities:
- To protect and maintain confidentialities.
- To liaise with, and support, members of staff in fulfilling their functions.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post.
- To help to promote pupil’s good behaviour and discipline through positive interactions with the pupils.
- To communicate information effectively to all staff, or other professionals whenever required appropriately to do so.
- To participate in meetings arranged for any of the purposes described above.
- To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, and reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- To be aware of and supporting difference and ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- To contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
- To appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
Performance Management:
- Participating in arrangements made for the performance management process at this school including:
- reviewing from time to time your own methods and programmes of work.
- participating in arrangements for your further training and development as a school administrator
Discipline, health, and safety:
- To maintain good order among the pupils safeguarding their health and safety when they are authorised to be on the school premises.
Staff meetings:
- To participate in meetings at the school which relate to the organisation of the school.
- To participate in organisational tasks related to such duties as are described above commensurate with the position.
Working time:
You shall be available to perform such duties at such times and in such places as may be specified by the Executive Headteacher for the hours specified in your employment contract, those hours to be allocated reasonably throughout those days in the school year on which you are required to be available for work.
Time spent in travelling to or from the place of work shall not count against the hours worked.
You shall not be required under your contract to undertake midday supervision and you shall be allowed a break of reasonable length either between school sessions or between the hours of 12 noon and 2.00pm.
