Local Governance
Each Trust school has its own Local Advisory Board (LAB) made up of parents, staff and community members. They meet on a regular basis to review and discuss the school’s curriculum, observe lessons, and spend time looking at other aspects of the school day including dining, playtimes, student voice etc. Each half term they look at and review the delivery of a different curriculum subject e.g. Maths, English, Science.
Each half term the LAB Chairs meet collectively with the Chair of the Schools Advisory Board (SAB) who is one of the Trust’s Trustees. They discuss the outcomes of the LAB’s reviews, identifying areas where the Trust is delivering the curriculum well but also where there might be gaps or improvements needed. The Chair of the Schools Advisory Board ensures this feedback is then fed into the Trust’s Education Committee.
The Education Committee is sub-Committee of the Full Trust Board. Besides looking at feedback from the schools gathered through the Local Advisory Boards and Schools Advisory Board, they review pupil progress and outcomes, review school improvement work and leadership, monitor and review classroom coaching and leadership standards.
