Teaching Assistant

The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst, Westclyst and Yeo Valley Primary Schools. With a further school opening in Monkerton in 2020, this is an exciting time to join a growing team within the academy trust.

Due to the expansion of the Trust, we are seeking to recruit a dedicated and professional Teaching Assistant. Based initially in Key Stage 1, you will work alongside the class teacher to support children in all areas of the curriculum. You will also assist in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with parents, maintaining pupil records and carrying out a range of administrative tasks. Relevant experience of working with children and qualifications are desirable (e.g. NVQ level 2 or equivalent or higher).

Required as soon as possible, the post will initially be for a fixed term until the end of August 2020.

The working hours are typically 30 per week, starting at 9.00am, finishing 3.30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Posts within our Early Years team may have slightly different working hours.

The position is term time only + 2 weeks (40 weeks per annum).

The salary will be between £14,037 (adjusted for national living wage if over 21/25 years old) and £16,590 pro rata. This allows for progression within the role in line with our appraisal and professional development processes. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the hours per week and the weeks per year.

As an employer we offer our employees access to the local government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme, as well as subsidised meals. You will be provided with modern IT equipment to help you fulfil your duties.

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement.
